Default "Word is finishing analyzing your document"

Hi all,

I'm getting the message occasionally "Word is finishing analyzing your
document" in Word 2003 SP2. It seems to be linked to another problem
I'm getting where the styles used for the tables go haywire (see
http://groups.google.com/group/micro...660fc1f6c0cb6).

The message normally happens when I use "Select All X Instance(s)" in
the "Styles and Formatting" right-hand panel, but has happened on
occasion randomly. What happens is the above message will appear, and
then tables in the document have their style overwritten by an auto-
generated style.

The previous discussion of the problem links it to addons,
particularly PDF addons. However, my documents/templates have no
addons, and I've uninstalled all PDF-related programs apart from Adobe
Reader but still get the message.

I've also checked the following:

* Smart tags and autoformatting is turned off
* No PDF programs start on startup

Any help appreciated,

Thanks,

P.

ISTR reading somewhere that it might be associated with AutoSummarize, but
perhaps I'm making this up. Another poster said that uninstalling Adobe
Elements cleared the problem, and there seem to be some references to
association with Adobe PDFMaker.dot in various posts as well. In any case,
the general consensus is that the problem is caused by an add-in of one sort
or another.
