Default Hyperlinks to MHT files

I have successfully saved a web page as a single file (MHT) in order to
preserve images on it. I am trying to add a hyperlink in a Word document to
it, but when I click on the hyperlink Explorer tells me the address is not
valid.

Any suggestions? I've successfully added other hyperlinks to saved
"complete" Web pages, but I need to use an MHT file in this case.

I forgot to add that I am using Word 2007 and Internet Explorer 7.
