Default how do i add a citation to a document in office word 2003?

i am writing an essay for college and i need to add citations to it but i
cant find how to do it! i need ?

Unless you want to buy an add-in bibliography program (such as
EndNote), you'll just have to type them.

A (rather inadequate!) bibliography tool was added to Word2007.
