Fields in Word 2003
Is there a way to set up data entry fields in a Word 2003 document so that
there is a simple keystroke (Tab??) to index to the next field?? In other words, after typing the text into Field 1, can the fields be set up so that a certain keystroke operation indexes the active site to the next field so that one does not need to use the cursor to move to the next field?? Thanks. njmeatball |

I suppose that you are talking about fields in an unprotected document (and
not form fields in a document protected for forms). If that is the case, you can use F11 to select the next field and Shift+F11 to select the previous field. You can also assign other shortcuts via Tools Customize if you wish. The commands to find are NextField and PrevField. For information about assigning shortcuts, see: http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Custom...roToHotkey.htm -- Regards Lene Fredborg DocTools - Denmark www.thedoctools.com Document automation - add-ins, macros and templates for Microsoft Word "njmeatball" wrote: Is there a way to set up data entry fields in a Word 2003 document so that there is a simple keystroke (Tab??) to index to the next field?? Fields in Word 2003
Thanks Lene, that was what I was looking for. I don't need to assign it to a
keyboard macro; pressing F11 is simple enough. I'm am surprised that I was not able to find this out with searches of Word2003 help or looking into tutorials for Word 2003. Thanks again for your help. "Lene Fredborg" wrote: I suppose that you are talking about fields in an unprotected document (and not form fields in a document protected for forms).
