Linked Excel files change size when updated
I have linked Excel files in a Word 2003 document. I put them there by
copying, using Paste Special, Paste link: Microsoft Office Excel Worksheet Document. I have to resize them from the original after I paste them (to approx. 75%) of their original size. After saving and then re-opening the document, when it updates the links, each Object changes size (getting smaller) and does not adhere to the aspect ratio. If I update manually, it does the same thing. How can I get them to stay the same size through the update process? Thank you! (Duplicate posting will be placed in Excel Forum) |

I have the same problem that you have and have not received any solution. I
have read many postings and no one seems to have an answer that works. I don't think Henk57 is understanding the problem we are experiencing. His solution to lock the aspect ratio does not solve the problem. Please let me know if you ever get a solution. Very frustrating. "Patti D." wrote: I have linked Excel files in a Word 2003 document. Linked Excel files change size when updated
I found one solution from a colleague - construct a table in Word, and paste
the Excel ranges into the table. They seem to keep their size when they are within the table. Good luck! "jfox" wrote: Patti D. I stand corrected on my statement about Henk57's solution not working. It does work so long as you do not center the Excel spreadsheet and use the line with text option. It ends up not being as pretty but it does work and does not resize when updating the link. jfox "Patti D." wrote: I have linked Excel files in a Word 2003 document.
