Advance text to specific position
Is there a way to advance text to a specific vertical position on the page?
I remember when I used WordPerfect (years ago) there was a function for this. Does Word have one? |

Help would have taken you directly to the Advance field (the name is kind of
a give-away); or use a borderless textbox positioned wherever you want it. "Hebe" wrote in message ... Is there a way to advance text to a specific vertical position on the page? I remember when I used WordPerfect (years ago) there was a function for this. Does Word have one? |

Thank you. When I searched Help I didn't use that term as believe it or not
I didn't think of it. "Jezebel" wrote: Help would have taken you directly to the Advance field (the name is kind of a give-away); or use a borderless textbox positioned wherever you want it. Note, however, that the ADVANCE field in Word is included primarily for
compatibility with documents imported from WordPerfect and is not very useful in native Word documents since there is not an interface (as in WP) that makes it easy to specify an exact position. The field measures in points, which are not second nature to most users. As Jezebel suggested, a text box (or frame) positioned relative to the page is probably a better solution in Word. -- Suzanne S.
