I am looking for a way that word will automatically put the time in the documeent when I open and change the document. Put the cursor where you want the time to appear in the document, click Insert Field, choose a TIME field with the formatting you want, and click OK. Just before you send the document, click on the field and press F9 (or right-click and choose Update Field) and then press Ctrl+F11 to lock the field so its value won't change unexpectedly. The next time you're about to send the document, click on the field and press Ctrl+Shift+F11 to unlock it, F9 to update it, and Ctrl+F11 to lock it again. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |
