Default How do I get rid of these black underlines in Microsoft Word?

There are these black lines that underline some words in Microsoft Word and
they won't delete. How do I delete them?

Perhaps they're borders? Hit Ctrl+A, then Format--Borders and shading;
click the Borders tab and choose NONE.
