Default can't set grammer check

I go to tools, then options, and am able to set the spelling check - but the
grammer chect is 'grayed' out and I can't set the Kinkaid readibility level.
Any suggestions?? I really need this tool for writing papers!!

Default can't set grammar check

Hi Sherrie:

Check the Language your text is marked in (i.e. Which "flavour" of English
or whatever language you are using...)

Grammar checking is not available for all of the languages for which you can
get spell-checking. If your text is marked to be in a language for which
you do not have grammar installed, the option will be greyed out.

Also check the setting for "Do not check spelling or grammar" on the same
dialog box. It is possible to "Ignore" the entire document. Try clicking
"Recheck Document".

If it's not that, I need to get some more detail from you. Which version of
Word? Which operating system? Which languages do you have installed?
Which one are you using?

Is this ALL documents, or just some documents? Is this ALL users on the
computer, or just your User ID? (It can be a registry problem: if it is, it
affects only one of the users on the PC...)

Cheers
