Default Word 2003 start up problems

Often when I start Word, it seems to lock up and I can't do anything with the
documents. I usually only have one other program (Outlook) open at the same
time. After rebooting, everything works just fine.

There does not seem to be any consistency to when it will lock up. This
same thing happened a long time ago, and I got it resolved but I can't
remember what was done.

Thanks.

Not using Word as e-mail editor for Outlook saves a few problems - but see
