Default Pressing enter gives extra line????

Hello Everyone,
I have a problem that I've never seen before. I press enter and the
insertion point moves down one line as it is supposed to but then it moves an
extra space. And the spacing is huge. I've checked the spacing before and
after. I've check edit. But I'm completely puzzled by this one. So to
repeat. I press the enter key once, and the insertion point moves down a
half a beat and then moves further down.

Any help you can offer will be highly appreciated.
