Default US date format

I have set up a mailmerge Word document based on an Access query. In the
query the date is in UK format (dd/mm/yyy) but once the query is merged with
the Word document it displays all dates in US format (mm/dd/yyy). Although I
have changed all underlying date formats i.e. in the tables that the query is
based on, I cannot get the dates to display correctly in the Word document.
Please can you help me?

Sorry, Anne, but it doesn't work. The formatting remains the same.

My apologies Anne, it does work but it was necessary to close the document
first for the changes to take effect. Many thanks for your help. It is very
much appreciated.

You'll always need to update the fields to see the changes. Fields can be
updated by closing and opening the file, doing a print preview, printing, or
hitting Ctrl+A and F9. I'm going to add this information to the article.
I'm glad you pointed it out.
