I am using a Word 2000 document that is protected, but allows for typing
in specific fields. All of a sudden when I type in these fields the
text is underlined and in red font. Can you tell me what is wrong and
how to correct it? If I unprotect it doesn't give me those problems,
but I didn't have them before it was protected and now I do. Any help
is appreciated.

Yes it was. I don't use Word that much, just for a letter or two and a
few memo's.
