cant open works with word
All my documents that I saved to disc while using Microsoft works, I can not
open now, with word. Most of them are trying to open with media player for some reason, but when word tries, it says file corrupt? Please advise |

Never ever read from, write to or print from floppy with Word. This is the
most certain method of ensuring document corruption. Copy to the hard disc and work on the document from there. This is equally relevant to other removable media such as CDRW. Word will only open the latest version of Works wordprocessor files. For the older ones, you will need the correct filter. The filters are linked from the downloads page of my web site. You reference to media player is merely a reference to the file association in Windows registry for the wps file format. Right click in Explorer and select open with Word (when you have the filter) then set the dialog to always open with this application. If you still have Works on your PC, reinstall it to reset its file association instead. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org vrives wrote: All my documents that I saved to disc while using Microsoft works, I can not open now, with word. Graham, my documents were created with works, saved on disc. New
computer, doesn't have works on it., only word 2003. When trying to open, says file corrupt. Which particular converter do I need. thanks "Graham Mayor" wrote: Never ever read from, write to or print from floppy with Word. This is the most certain method of ensuring document corruption. You need the converter for the version of Works that created the document.
