Default speech recognition feature in MS Word XP

The the language bar is activated it works fine but I am unable to close it.
When I right click on the language bar and select 'Close the language bar',
nothing happens. How do I close the language bar or the speech feature?

Default

You can disable it through Control Panel | Regional Options | Input Locales
| Change... | Language Bar.
