I am trying to lock textboxes and cells within a Word table so that when the
last line of the box is reached the box will not grow to accommodate another
line of text. I am using Microsoft Office 2000 Professional.

Set the cell dimensions to exact values.

In addition to Doug's suggestion, note that for text boxes, *Word
2000* doesn't allow any automatic resizing. You're probably not using
a text box but a frame. Use FormatFrame to specify a fixed height for
the frame.
