header footer autotext
replaced the normal.dot file with one from the network (realize this isn't
the best approach). but wanted to know if there is a way to get the filename autotext back and all the rest.. only have page right now.. so when we do a header footer autotext choice is only page. can we add back the rest of the styles. |

Not really sure what you're asking (a little punctuation and something
resembling English syntax would help). If you've zapped your normal.dot, you've discarded the autotext entries etc that were saved in it. You can retrieve them if you have a backup. Your best bet is to rename Normal.dot. See

To get your built-in AutoText back, rename normal.dot (with Word closed).
See http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step instructions on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations including AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros, etc. Use these methods instead of overwriting normal.dot in the future. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://www.mvps.org/word which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup. What I want to know is.. after replacing the normal.dot file with one from
our network. I lost the options to choose filename/path in header footer(autotext) is there a way to get that back. or do I have to recreate normal. thanks "Jezebel" wrote: Not really sure what you're asking (a little punctuation and something resembling English syntax would help).
