Default how do I make a checklist has dots between the challenge and respo

I am making a checklist and I would like to have dots between the challenge
and the response. I know I can hold the "period" button down to do this but
I thought there was an automatic way to do this using the TAB key. See below.

1. PARKING BRAKE
.................................................. ................ SET
2. BATTERY
.................................................. .......................... ON

Any thoughts?

What you want is called a dot leader. You can do this by clicking on Format
| Tabs | Clear All | Select leader number 2 | type in your tab stop position.
Done!
