Getting rid of the New Document task pane in Word 2003
Hello,
How can I get rid of the New Document task pane so that only a blank document displays when I click the New Document icon? Thank you. |

Getting rid of the New Document task pane in Word 2003
If the New button on the Standard toolbar is opening the New Document task
pane, then it is running the FileNew command. What you want instead is FileNewDefault. See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...oToToolbar.htm for instructions on adding a toolbar button; add the button for FileNewDefault (in All Commands; New as opposed to New... in the File category) and remove the existing one by dragging it off the toolbar. -- Suzanne S.
