Default How do I make my Word documents not start with double strikeout?

For unknown reasons after years of working fine, now every time I start a new
Word Document everything I type is in double-strikeout. I know how to
ctrl+A, right-click, properties, and uncheck that property but that's really
anoying. How do I just make it start normally like it always used to?

Go to Format | Font, clear the check box for "Double strikethrough," click
Default..., and answer yes.
