Default Retriving lost documents in word

I was editing one of my word documents. After I completed the document I
clicked on the save button to save it to it's original location for some
reason the save as window came up so I pointed it to the original spot I had
saved that file. I then clicked on the wrong word document file to save it to
please tell me there is some way of retriving my document that I saved this
file over by mistake

I'd like to tell you there is a way of retrieving the document you
saved over but unless you create backups, either in Tools/Options/Save
or by another means there is nothing to recover. When you confirmed
replacing the file content Word did just that - essentially it deleted
the old document and created a new one with the same name to take its
place.

Restore it from your last backup. If you don't have a backup, you didn't
really need the document anyway.
