Default Can I merge Access data into FormText fields in Word 2000?

I have been given a word document that uses FORMTEXT fields for the user to
enter numbers and then the form calculates sums from what user enters. I want
to change the form so that the input numbers for the form are merged from an
existing access db, not entered by the user. Then, I want the numbers that
are merged in from access to be summed in FORMTEXT calcuations just as if the
user had entered the data. Is this possible to do?
