Tabbing not working correctly in some documents
There are several documents that were created a long time ago by a user who
is no longer with the company. the documents have tabing going on. ie: Date: Time: From: To: after each word there is a gray box that the person can type in the information that is needed, than the user presses the down arrow key to go to the next line and at the begining of the gray box and is able to type in what they need to type in, down arrows again and this goes on until all information is entered. one of the documents is fine, however there are a couple of documents that are set up the same way but when the user presses the down arrow, the cursor does not go to the beginning of the box it just goes to the same spot the cursor was in on the above line. I tried to compare two of the documents property page however i can with the "good" document, but with the other document properties is grayed out and i can not view it. 2 questions: 1) how can i get the documents that will not work properly when you down arrow key after you enter the information in to go to the begining of the gray box and not at the spot where the cursor was in the box above it? 2) what do i need to do to see the properties of the documents that properties are grayed out? Thanks so much! -- Thank you, |

It sounds as if one of the documents has form fields; the other may just
have MacroButton fields. You can determine what is involved by pressing Alt+F9 to view the field codes. The document that has form fields will be protected for forms, which is why you can't access the Properties (or anything else except the form fields). You should be able to Tab from one form field to the next on that one. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA "luv2bike2" wrote in message ... Suzanne,
Thank you very much!! the problem has been solved. I pulled up the Forms tool bar and locked the form so that the properties were grayed out and than i went back into the document and i was able to tab from one form field to the next and the cursor was at the begining of box. Thanks!!!!!!!!! -- Thank you, "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote: It sounds as if one of the documents has form fields; the other may just have MacroButton fields.
