Default Background Image that isnt dimmed

Hi

i need to have a background image on every page. the image cannot be dimmed
when viewing the page. It needs to veiw as if placed (insert/image/from file)
on the page. It must insert itself onto new pages as they are created, be it
by manual page breaks or text flowing onto new pages.

so... header/footer, that dims it, so its not an option.
watermark dims it, so thats not an option.

if those two statements are incorrect, PLEASE enlighten me as to how the
dimming is avoided

i need this to function like a powerpoint file with an image placed on the
background of its masterpage. I dont think word can do this, but if it can i
really need to know how. My boss thinks word works like InDesign, if that
were only true.

This is not possible in an online document (unless it is a Web page). An
image anchored to the header will repeat on every page and will not be
dimmed on the printed page, as you can see from Print Preview. Despite the
features that allow Word to attempt to be something else, it is still
primarily an application for creating printed documents.

By "online document" I meant one intended for viewing onscreen as opposed to
being printed out. Many users are demanding this sort of functionality as we
move closer to the "paperless office" we were promised so many years ago,
but this is not something Word is currently equipped to handle except in
Print Preview.
