Default turn off auto update of date for existing document.

If I open an existing Word document, I do not want the date to change.

Default turn off auto update of date for existing document.

Right-click the date and select Toggle Field Codes. Where you see the
word DATE, change it to say CREATEDATE. Right-click it again and
choose Update Field. Now it will always show the date you created the
document.
