You cannot translate languages with just Microsoft Word. Learn to use the built in help in Microsoft Word and/or Google... It will help you out immenslely with questions like this. _______________________ How to Enable European language support for Word http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...306731033.aspx _______________________ _______________________ Enable editing of multiple languages 1. In Microsoft Windows, click Start, point to Programs or All Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings. 2. Click the Enabled Languages tab. 3. In the Available languages box, select the language you want to enable. If you do not see the language that you want, or if you see (limited support) next to a language in the Available languages box, you may need to install additional system support for the language. The available support depends on your operating system. 4. Click Add. _______________________ _______________________ Turn on or off new German spelling rules The feature described in this Help topic is only available if support for German is enabled through Microsoft Office Language Settings. In addition, to check the spelling of German text, you must install the German spelling dictionary, which is available in Microsoft Proofing Tools**. 1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling & Grammar tab. 2. Select or clear the Use German post-reform rules check box. **Microsoft Office 2003 Proofing Tools is an add-in package that contains the proofing tools that Microsoft makes for over 30 languages— for example fonts, spelling and grammar checkers, AutoCorrect lists, AutoSummarize rules (Microsoft Word only), translation dictionaries, and, for Asian languages, Input Method Editors (IMEs) (IME: A program that enters East Asian text (Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, or Korean) into programs by converting keystrokes into complex East Asian characters. The IME is treated as an alternate type of keyboard layout.). Microsoft Office 2003 Proofing Tools is available at Shop.microsoft.com, or outside the United States from a licensed reseller. For more information about Proofing Tools, see the Microsoft Office Online Web site. _______________________ _______________________ Use a keyboard layout for a specific language You can use specialized keyboard layouts to type in specific languages. If you have more than one keyboard layout installed, you can switch between them. Install keyboard layouts for specific languages in Windows XP 1. On the Microsoft Windows Start menu, point to Control Panel. 2. Click Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options and then click Regional and Language Options. 3. Click the Languages tab and then click Details under Text services and input languages. 4. Select the desired keyboard layout from the Default input language list and then click Apply. 5. If you want to be able to switch keyboard layouts by using the Language bar, click Language Bar under Preferences, and then select the Show the Language bar on the desktop check box. Switch keyboard layouts Do one of the following: If the Language bar is visible -- On the Language bar, click the keyboard layout indicator , and then click the layout you want. The letters on the indicator change to reflect the language of the keyboard. If the Language bar is not visible -- On the Microsoft Windows taskbar, click the keyboard layout indicator , and then click the layout you want. The letters on the indicator change to reflect the language of the keyboard. Note - To type East Asian text, you must be using an Input Method Editor (IME) (IME: A program that enters East Asian text (Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, or Korean) into programs by converting keystrokes into complex East Asian characters. The IME is treated as an alternate type of keyboard layout.) _______________________ _______________________ How to check spelling and grammar in another language in Word 2003 http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...305121033.aspx _______________________ -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |
