Default Align numbers in a table by decimal point.

I have a Word (2003) table containing various numbers. Some have 2 or 3
decimal places, some are negative numbers with decimal places, some numbers
are even in parentheses. I want to align the numbers by the decimal point so
it will look neat and orderly. Can this be done?
Thanks,
SuzyQ

Yes. Use a decimal tab stop. See

Default Align numbers in a table by decimal point.

Select the column, and then insert a decimal tab. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/SettingTabs.htm.

But a tab character is not required for decimal tab stops in a table.
