Saved Icon With Scroll And Exclamation Mark (Word 2007)
Hello,
Just started using MS Office Word 2007. With XP. Some of the icons for the saved Word documents I have saved seem to have a scroll with an exclamation mark in the icon's lower right hand corner. What does this signify, please ? Thanks, Bib |

Thanks, Bib An exclamation mark on the icon of a document or template means that it contains macros. Unlike previous versions of Word, an "ordinary" document or template (*.docx or *.dotx) cannot contain any macros. The macro-enabled variety (*.docm or *.dotm) can, and they show a different icon. If that isn't the case, then perhaps you have something else involved, such as a document-management system. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |
