Dear
when starting word after booting into windows xp pro It takes ages to start
word about 30 sec and about another 30 sec to open the requested doc? how can
I speed up this process?? I already deleted the normal.dot file which
improved for a little while the startup time but got slower by the end of the
day?

any suggestions

Paul,

did you get a reply on this? I'm having the exact same problem. I went
through the steps outlined on Microsoft's troubleshooting page for startup
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/820919/en-us). None of those steps helped
me.
