Word 2000. Why does each line start with capital letter?
Each new line is starting with a capital letter. I have gone through
formatting, all menus to find out how to stop this. It is annoying because have to delete & retype each first of line letter Can anyone help please Thanks x |

Two parts:
1. You have "Capitalize first letter of sentences" checked on the AutoCorrect tab of Tools | AutoCorrect Options. 2. You are pressing Enter at the end of each line. This creates a new paragraph, and Word assumes (fairly logically) that the beginning of a paragraph is the beginning of a sentence. Unless you have a very good reason for pressing Enter at the end of every line, don't do it! Let the text wrap naturally. If you do have a good reason for doing it, then clear the check box. -- Suzanne S.
