Default Adding font

Is there some reason why my PC and others do not have the Courier (not
Courier New) and Times (not Times New Roman) fonts installed? Anyone have a
suggestion about the best way to obtain them, either by buying commercial
software or downloading from a web site?

Some older Courier and Times fonts were not
truetype fonts.

Some printers ship with internal or installable
fonts, others do not.

Some of the appearance differences are from higher
DPI ratings on today's printers as well.
