Default Print Print Preview...?

Howdy,

I run W2000 under Win 2000 Pro.

We store as BMP files a bunch of "signatures" that we often
use on form letters.

The form letter might end with:

Sincerely,

Joe Blow

and then we insert the "picture from file" to produce:

Sincerely,

(Signature here)

Joe Blow

Here's the problem:

I just printed a bunch of such form letters, and the result
looked like this:

Sincerely,

Joe Blow
(Signature here)

When I saw that, I immediately clicked on Print Preview, and
it looked perfect.

I am baffled.

What might cause the dislocation of the graphic
(particularly given that the Preview looks perfect)?

Sincere thanks,

No idea what might cause it, but check to the position of the graphic
(Format Picture | Layout). Ideally, you want it to be In Line With Text.
That way, there's no way it can "wander." If for some reason you need the
graphic to overlap the text, then define its position (Layout | Advanced)
relative to the preceding or following paragraph (whichever one it's
anchored to) rather than relative to the page or margins.

Hi Suzanne,

Thanks for your great comments...

Eventually, I just rebuilt the letter, and the second time,
it printed fine.

In fact, (as you asked above) I do need the graphic to
overlap the text. The sig was done with a felt-tip pen and
is large. When positioned properly, it would be tough to
tell it from the real thing,

I will also add that I have noticed that if I paste the
graphic in, and then attempt to format it by right-clicking
it and choosing format picture, it will not work properly.

If, instead, I click View | Toolbars | Picture word
wrapping, I can get it right.

Weird...

In any case, thanks again,
