Odd page breaks
Can I make an odd page have an even page number. I have been inserting odd
page breaks to make sure I have blank pages between pages. I need to start page numbering and it is actually an even numbered page but it will not let me have an even number after so many odd page breaks. I tried to change just the one page above it to an even page break but I still need a blank page and therefore it still associates it with an odd page number. Why won't it let me make th epage even numbered? |

Odd page breaks
Hi PierceM
An odd page break tells Word that you want the next page to be an odd page, and, if necessary, Word should insert a blank page into the document to achieve this. There's no way, as far as I can see, to tell Word that you want the next page to be an odd page, and then give it an even page number. You could trick up something clever with the page numbers. For example, if you have a { page } field, then select it, do ctrl-F9 so it now looks like { { page } }, and then edit the field so it looks like this: { = { page } + 1 }. Note that you can't type the {} braces by hand. You must use ctrl-F9 and type between the braces that Word inserts for you. Once you've typed the field, use F9 to update it, or ctrl-a F9 to update all fields in the document. However, the real solution is to go back through your document and, section by section, choose File Page Setup, and on the Layout Tab, choose the appropriate start for each section. Hope this helps.
