Opening delay when opening from file system
I have Office Ultimate 2007 installed on WinXP SP3. When opening a Word file
by double- clicking on it, or choosing "open with" Word on the shortcut menu, takes a loooong time, around a minute. Specifically, it takes about 30 seconds for Word to start, and then another 30 second for the file to open. That is my problem in Word. Other situations when the problem ALSO does show, which hopefully could be a clue, and which hopefully has the same problem background: - The same happens for Excel files. - Opening web pages by clicking web links in email in Outlook also takes a very long time. Situations when the problem does NOT show, which hopefully could be a clue: - If I first start Word or Excel, and then open the file from within the program, it opens in a second. - If I open the file by choosing open with ... some other applicable program than Word or Excel, it opens in a second. Thanks for any help on this. |
