Default default paragraph style

I've searched the NG using keywords 'normal style body text' and don't see
any reference to the setting on the Tools | Options | Edit tab for Default
Paragraph Style.

Is there any reason to avoid this setting?

Fiddling with it a little - it doesn't seem to do much. It still seems as
though the most dependable way to make Body Text the default style is by
formatting the empty paragraph in in Normal.DOT with the Body Text style.

Any reactions?
