Default Word 2007 Building Blocks not saving

When I create a building block (Quick Part/AutoText), the building block is
not saved to Building Blocks.dotx and I cannot use it in my next Word
session. In the past when I exited Word, Word would prompt me to save any
building blocks I had created in that session. Now Word does not do that. I
tried checking the Word Advanced Option to Prompt Before Saving Normal
Template, but that did not do anything (whether it is checked or unchecked).
Thanks in advance for any help.
