Default access to my CD drive to save files

I wish to save files to a rewritable CD in word. It reports 'icorrect
function' then access denied see sdministrator. This is a stand alon
computer and there is no administrator. I can access CD drive from other
routes e.g. explorer and 'my computer'

Do not do this! It is a protected action in Word to prevent document
corruption. Save to the hard drive and copy to the disc. Copy back to the
hard drive before opening the document.

Interesting - Microsoft Article: 184460 seems to indicate that you can save
to a writable CD drive!

I don't care if Microsoft implies or says outright that you can save to a
recordable CD. Don't do it from within Word if you want to use your files.
At a minimum, you'll eat up space on your CD, but loss of files is a regular
occurance.
