Default Is Office 2003 word documents compatible with office 97?

I just forwarded a document made in Office 2003 Word (XP windows) to a user
using Office 97 word (Windows 97) and she wasn't able to see the document
completely. The paragraph was scrambled. I had inserted text and pictures
created in Corel into word.

Thanks

If the Corel material was simply copied and pasted, then the file you sent
contained embedded Corel objects which will be visible only if the recipient
also has Corel on their machine. As a work around, either use one of the
Paste Special options to insert the Corel material, or convert your document
to PDF and send that.
