Word 2003, problems with file dialogue boxes
Thanks,
Is there any other way around the problem? The problem with the solution is that everytime I'm away from away I will not be able to connect to the drives so I will need to disconnect them to avoid this problem. That obviously then gives me the hassle of having to re-map them when I get back home. Thanks Nick "garfield-n-odie" wrote: Once you disconnect a mapped drive, the drive will stay disconnected until you map it again. NickE wrote: Excellent, all sorted now. Today I am working away from home so had 2 network drives that couldn't be connected to. When I reboot my machine will the network mappings still be present or do I need to add them back in? (I'm still away from home so can't test). Do you have any idea why this problem does not present itself with all file related dialogue boxes, e.g. if I go to my webmail and invoke the file attach dialog I don't get the same delays when navigating folders. Thanks Nick "garfield-n-odie" wrote: Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop, left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped drives that are not currently available. When I try and navigate to the location where the picture is stored the open picture dialogue takes upto 3 minutes to respond to a change of folder,e.g. E.g if it defaults to My Documents and I then double click on say folder Nick it would take 2 mins to open the Nick folder. Any ideas please? |
