Default Small Grid Pattern on Normal.dot

My Word 2000 and now Word 2003 normal document template has a small grid
pattern showing in Print Layout View. It does not show in Normal View. How
did it get there and how can I get rid of it. I prefer to work in Print
Layout View. Thanks.

Penny.

ViewToolbarsDrawing.

Click the Draw menu buttonGrid and uncheck "display gridlines on screen."

Thanks Greg--I knew it was something really simple that would make me feel
silly for asking.
