Default Why does the spacing in my signature change when I use stationery?

I have Word 2003 Microsoft Outlook. When I don't enable stationery, my
signature looks as it should, with single spacing. When I use stationery, my
signature's spacing looks like double-spacing. There's no way that I can see
to change the spacing, and the spacing is set to single-space.
