I have a document with 4 attachments. I have put in section breaks between
each document and the page 1 of X is not working. At each document start,
page 1 of each section is ok, however instead of the x being the number of
pages in each section, it is the total number of pages in the entire
document. How can I adjust this?

The "Page X of Y" expression (actually a standard AutoText entry)
that's inserted by the dropdown on the Header/Footer toolbar contains
two fields. The X represents a {PAGE} field for the current page
number, and the Y represents a {NUMPAGES} field for the total number
of pages in the document. You need to change the {NUMPAGES} field to a
{SECTIONPAGES} field to show the number of pages in the current
section.

To do that, right-click the existing number and choose Edit Field.
Change the word NUMPAGES to the word SECTIONPAGES. Right-click again
and choose Update Field.
