Default Printing Word 2003 document in Windows 7 environment

I have upgraded my computer to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (from XP) but
retained Office Professional 2003 SP3. I have a Brother DCP-540CN printer and
have re-installed an "upgraded" driver from the Brother website which is now
"compatible" with Windows 7. When I did a printer test, it printed ok.
However, when I try to print a document from Word 2003, it printed only
one-third of a page, then half a page. Can anyone explain why this is
happening? In a thread elsewhere, it was stated that Word 2003 is compatible
with Windows 7 but this doesn't appear to be in my case.
