tab doesn't work to change list levels
When I am typing a multilevel bulleted or numbered list, the TAB and
SHIFT+TAB doesn't work to go back and forth between different levels. Pressing either of these commands [TAB or SHIFT+TAB], the bullet remains at the same level as the one above it and the command merely indents the text at that bullet. Instead, now I have to click on Increase Indent or Decrease Indent to be able to change levels. Is there a setting that I need to turn off/on to make this change? |

It would have been much easier to answer your question if you had
mentioned which version of Word you have. In Word 97 and 2000, click on Tools | Options | Edit tab | check the "Tabs and backspace set left indent" box | OK. In Word 2002 and 2003, click on Tools | AutoCorrect Options | AutoFormat As You Type tab | check the "Set left- and first-indent with tabs and backspaces" box | OK. In Word 2007, click on Office Button | Word Options | Proofing | AutoCorrect Options | AutoFormat As You Type tab | check the "Set left- and first-indent with tabs and backspaces" box | OK. felicialynn wrote: When I am typing a multilevel bulleted or numbered list, the TAB and SHIFT+TAB doesn't work to go back and forth between different levels.
