(A pity you didn't include text in the body of the message - it's
usual to do that.)

MSWord itself can't convert a document into PDF format. The
"original" way of doing that is to use the Adobe product (or there
may be more than one), which is not free of charge. I think Adobe
Acrobat (not just the reader) can do that, as can Adobe Distiller.
Another way is to use the office suite called OpenOffice.Org. This
is a free open-source project-product that includes a word processor
(and other items). It can open (read, edit, save etc.) Word-format
documents; it can also export them to PDF-format documents, though
not with all the options that the Adobe product gives. OOO is
supplied on the cover disks of PC magazines from time to time and
can be downloaded from the OpenOffice.Org website (I think it's
about 70 megabytes, so you really need broadband for this).
There are also some standalone software products available that do
just this. Some have to be paid for (cheaper than Adobe's product,
and less flexible in use) and some (though not many, I think) are
freeware. These are also sometimes distributed on magazine disks or
can be downloaded.
The act of creating a PDF file is, for Adobe and perhaps some of the
other products, done by "printing" the document to a pseudo-printer
that is in fact the special software, not a real printer. In other
cases it's an "export" command from the File menu.

You can probably find out about all these ways of doing it by using
a Search Engine.

CutePDF
PDFcreator

These operate as printer drivers. You print to them from your
application and they convert the output to a .pdf file.
