I just upgraded from office XP to office 2003. Omni Page pro 15 does not
seem to recognzize the change and I cannot "acquire text". any help?

The acquire text function is provided by OmniPage's add-in and not by Word.
Check that the add-in is in the correct startup folder (different between
the two Word versions) otherwise you'll need to consult the writers of
OmniPage.

I Had this problem and eventually after going through the manual i discovered
you do the following
You open Word
You open Omnipage at the same time
click on options tab in Tools then clcick on
DIRECT OCR make sure that WORD is listed and then tick enable DIRECT OCR Box.
Next time you open Word this facility will be there. If you want to remove it
UNTICK the direct OCR box
