Hello everyone,

I use documentproperties(i.e. those found in the summary tab of

in
Word 2007

Hi everybody,

i used the prompt for properties quite a lot and now after some search
in settings it really looks gone. I understand there is quite a big
change in doc.properties understanding, but prompt gone? can anybody
please confirm that or suggest workaround?

thanks

No. I cannot find it in Word either. It does seem strange to have
omitted something that was already working properly. However,
the reason may be Windows Vista: Vista has the option to display a
details pane across the bottom of the Explorer window. When you

Save a Word document in Vista, the Save Dialog is just an
extension of Vista Explorer; and when saving the Details Pane
lets the user add to the Properties. There is an option to Hide
the file list so that when you Save, what you see of the Vista
Explorer is just a small dialog with the box to enter the filename
and the properties bar to enter the doc properties. I've not

seen Word 2007 used in Windows XP as I have always used Office 2007
with various betas of Vista; I guess Word must still use XP

Explorer as its Save dialog, but there won't be the Properties
Bar available. Terry "Mike"

Default Prompt for document properties in Word 2007?

I'm trying to find the tool in Word 2007 that helps you create a summary of
the document.
It used to be in Word 2000. When you used the tool it highlighted key
points in your document that helped in writing a summary page. Do you know
how to do this? Or where I can find the tool? I haven't been able to get
help on this through the search/help buttons.
Thanks,
Nancy

Default Prompt for document properties in Word 2007?

You need to add it to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT):
a. Go to Office Button (at the top left)-Word Options-Customize
b. In "Choose commands from" select "Commands not in the ribbon"
c. scroll down the list until you find "Autosummary Tools" and select it
d. use the Add button to add it to the QAT

You should see the new command in the QAT, to the right of the Office
button, or wherever you located it.
