In the text to which you are applying the style, is the 12-point type the
default paragraph font, or has the 12-point size been applied as direct formatting? Also, does the description of your style specify the point size? And is it a paragraph style or a character style? -- Suzanne S. the text was originaly part of the normal style (times new roman 12)
the description itself doesn't specify the point size it is a paragraph style "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote in message ... If you created a style based on Normal (assuming that TNR 12 is the DPF of
Normal in your version of Word), then the style description should include both the font and the font size. If it doesn't include the font size, then you cannot expect to see that size applied. In the Modify Style dialog, change the font size again explicitly and save the style. I can't give more definitive instructions since you don't mention what version of Word you have, but if it's Word 2002 or 2003, see http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/styl...ifyAStyle.html -- Suzanne S. Another complication arises if your style is a table style:
Then you can't set the size to 10 pt, because Word bases the table style = on the Normal paragraph style, and it falsely thinks that Normal already = is 10 pt (as it was in old versions). The work-around would be to change Normal to 10 pt, then you can set the = table style to 10 pt. Regards, Klaus "Suzanne S.
