Automatic conversion of word to PDF
Hi all,
Good Morning. Have a good day. Is it possible to automatically convert word document into PDF? If so, please guide me how to do it. For ur clarity, this is the scenario: word letters are being generated as a output of our software program. For example, upon reaching Confirmation due date for an employee, the Confirmation letter is generated by the system. we use separate templates for the same and pre-defined bookmarks are inserted wherever necessary. Now the requirement is, when the letters are generated, it should automatically get converted into PDF docs along with security settings in the pdf. (security such as priting only should be enabled) pls do let me know how to achieve it. This is an urgent requirment. Anticipating an early reply from you. Thanks & Regards |

For starters, you will need a full version of Acrobat or one of the other
programs that can create .pdf files. With Acrobat, it appears as a printer (Adobe PDF) in the FilePrint dialog, and the security properties are assigned via the Properties dialog for the printer. -- Hope this helps. Thanks for your reply.
You r right. This how we used to do regularly. But now the requirement is for automating the task. When i install Adobe or any other third party tool, this has to be done manually, right? but I want it to convert automatically, may be through a .bat file or macro or any other. I use PDF 995. It's a free utility. It may not have all the bells and
whistles of Adobe Acrobat but why pay for something you may not need. It does a good job for me at least and you could do no harm to download http://www.pdf995.com/ and try. Regards. AQnd there is one called PDF Creator that can be downloaded free, much cheaper than Acrobat. -- Steve Hayes from Tshwane, South Africa http://www.geocities.com/Athens/7734/stevesig.htm E-mail - see web page, or parse: shayes at dunelm full stop org full stop uk |
