Default Table of contents problem

I have a document with a TOC using Mark text dialogue box.
When it is sent to colleagues they have to press F9 to update I assune
because of reading layout- is there a way to have it update automatically on
opening?

Most users have reading layour switched on
Thanks

Ask people to turn off the Reading Layout view: On the General tab of
Tools | Options, clear the "Allow starting in Reading Layout" option.

If necessary, this could be automated with an add-in. For more, you
may want to ask in a programming newsgroup. See also
